Rumor: Michlady to be AD

All the sports writers are saying he is sticking around a while

Should have been Hackett. And since I cannot sit thread title some one else do it please

Besides, according to Gulo's thread Hackett is going to be the AS and not the AD.

maybe the Assistant Specialist or Athletic Sire or something

And of course folks thing les miles is next coach as they were teammates

I sure hope not

In many ways, this is good news. UM has its AD hole filled in plenty of time to start coordinating a coaching search.

I'd rather have Hackett in place now than another AD finally hired in January.

And again, in my humble opinion (and ESPECIALLY now) if there is nothing on the coaching search front come the week of Christmas, I think it bodes well for getting one of the Harbaughs. They'll be able to send word to UM well before that if they're going to be willing to entertain an offer to become the HC. If UM is bringing in guys like McElwain, Stoops, etc. for interviews the first two weeks of December, then I think it speaks volumes, and indicates that word has reached AA that both Harbaughs are not interested in the vacancy.

If no AD throughout December, and neither Harbaugh is hired, then UM just wasted 3-4 valuable weeks of coaching search time, which hurts not only the search, but recruiting.

I've been rooting against the 49ers all year. Going to start rooting against Mississippi State now too. No way Dan Mullen interviews for any other jobs if his team is in the playoff.

Agree

All the sports writers talking about this especially with hiring coach

I think it's a pretty reasonable guess that the Harbaughs have been reached out to via back channels. If there's any reason that they may come to Michigan, they'll take a long time with this search.

I don't they needed a guy in now rather than January. Can't hire a coach until then anyway, unless it's a no bowl coach. And if they're looking for NFL guys there's no hurry at all.

I don't follow enough to know Hacker but I hope he wasn't permakept just for this purpose.

If there is no word by Christmas, then the other possibility is that Hoke gets another year.

Almost everyone is expecting hoke to be fired Monday

I fact I am heading off to what is most likely his last radio show

"Former CEO of a large company that shrunk significantly under him, former walkon under Bo, zero experience running any athletic department, what's not to like, sounds great!"

Signed,
David Brandon

Completely disagree, then agree totally.

I think the only coaches off limits would be the guys in the playoffs. Why couldn't Miles resign from LSU before they play in the Outback Bowl or something like that? Why can't Stoops resign from Kentucky before the "Whatever" Bowl to take the UM job? Rodriguez left WVU before they played in the Fiesta Bowl I think it was.

As for the NFL, NO NFL coach named Harbaugh is going to resign from their team to take the UM job in December. I still hear Petrino's name and my first thought is that he quit on the Falcons to go back to college, and it isn't a happy first thought.
