Lions Off Season Thread

You guys are so obtuse. I've seen the numbers. We have won a playoff game. The loss to Dallas was a "true win", remember?

I'm sure we have to have some "True Championships" in there as well, right?

I think we all agree the refs screwed us in that game. You don't want to go down this road.

Yeah, I actually do. Yep, that call was an ugly one. There was more than one ugly one.

Did the refs screw us? I would agree.

Is "true win" the dumbest fucking thing ever said in the history of sports discussions? 100%

Did the refs cause the Lions to score 6 points in one half of football? Or punt the ball on a 4th and 1? Or the fact that there were another five minutes left in that game after the call?

Nah, just remember the bad stuff.

Yes the refs did cause that. The chains move when they call the Pettigrew play correct.

It was more than one play too. Insane amount of holding by the Cowboys Oline allowing them to score points in the second half. Same with Saints and Seahawks games. Multiple egredious referee errors against the Lions with none in the Lions favor. Same with crucial games against Packers.

Lions can and will play better. Or the refs could start doing their jobs probably. Either way.

Nice to know the Lions are so good, average play with great officiating will net them a Super Bowl.

I don't see Mixon going before round 5. Too toxic in the press.

Dude, there's talk of him going in the 1st after his pro day lol. He's not falling out of the 2nd rd now...

Talk is talk bud. There was talk that Vontaze Burfict would go in the top 15 too, that they were willing to overlook the penalties. Undrafted.

I would be shocked to see him go before the 5th round. And I hope I am shocked, he's a hell of a player.

i think he'll be a 2nd day pick. Probably 3rd or 4th back off the board depending if a team picks him or Kamara.

Burfict was and is a whollllllle different animal, bro. He tried to maim kids in college. He had all the talent in the world but he only relied on talent. He was never prepared. He also had off-field issues as well. He was a train wreck.
Mixon is a hell of a talent that made a huge mistake. No issues off the field except for his stupidity in hitting a woman. Bad shit all around but no history. I think he goes in the 2nd rd and if he's there when we pick, we better grab him.

I've heard all of the "He's a football player and she was a smaller woman" arguments. The fact of the matter is, when someone put their hands on your throat, there is only one person in the entire world who has the right to decide how threatened you are, and that's you.

Your size don't matter. Her size don't matter. Paws on your throat matter. I doubt people realize how little pressure it honestly takes to damage a wind pipe... less pressure than it takes to crush a beer can... and empty one. No joke.

I don't think Joe Mixon made a mistake at all. That's how it works... when someone is attacked, they and only they have the legal right to decide if they feel threatened enough to defend themselves with physical force.

I know, it's not a popular opinion. We've all seen the video and he destroyed that girl with that punch. None of us like the idea of hitting a woman, we've all been raised better.

But in that scenario, he's the only person with the right to decide if he needs to swing. He did. And I for one hope he goes as high as possible in the draft because I don't think that decision to defend himself should cost him millions.

Hate my opinion if you like, and I understand that. But it's still the way I feel about it.

All the domestic violence aside....i don't remember him being very good in college anyways. Didn't perine play over him and have the bigger days?

1A and 1B. Perine had 39 more carries last year, but Mixon still surpassed 1800 yards from scrimmage
