Huge recruiting weekend this week with several of our top targets coming to campus for the homecoming game vs IU. Viting are: Parker Westphal who has a final 3 of MSU, NW, and Vandy. FL RB Madre London, OTs-Lucayaus McNaeil, Luke Hayes, and David Hedelin, Ss Otis Kearney and D'Cota Dixon. As well as several other underclassmen.

OH WR JJ Pinckney will be making it up in the next couple weeks and is expected to committ then.

What are these guys rated ? Are we looking at 2's, 3's, 4's, unranked ? What class are these guys in ?

A 2 a bunch of 3s and a 4. We're competing with the likes of illinois, Cincy and Connecticut for most of these kids.

LOL, sure.

We're competing with Nebraska, Florida State, Wisconsin, and Mississippi State along with 17 more schools that offered for Madre London. David Hedelin is a 4 star OT with offers from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa, Wisconsin, TN, Oregon, USC, and 14 others. OT Luke Hayes has offers from Miami FL, Zona, Baylor, K State, WV and NC State. OT McNeil has offers from Oklahoma, Va Tech, Wisconsin, Iowa, and L'ville among his 20+ total offers, it's between us and IU for McNeil.

D'Cota Nixon has offers from 18 schools including Arkansas, Auburn, Wisnconsin, and Vanderbilt. Otis Kearney has limited offers, but are we really going to question this staff's DB recruiting?

Westphal has offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, TN, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, but like I stated, he narrowed his top 3 to NW, Vandy, or MSU.

JJ Pinckney is between us and Kentucky.

WR Jamil Kamara is visiting along with about 20+ other guys on Novemeber 2nd. Top 100 player with offers from Miami, TN, Va Tech, Pitt, VA, Clemson etc.

FWIW, I think we land London, Hayes, and Pinckney in the next couple weeks. Westphal is about 50-50, his best friend is MSU DT Commit Enoch Smith Jr. Nixon and Kearney may commit too. Kamara is a longer shot, but getting him in for an official may sway him from his Pitt or VA lean right now.

LOL, sure. Like Vandy, NW, Pitt, Kentucky, Cincy etc, etc, we're looking for starters and FSU, Oregon, OK, USC, Mich, ND, OSU etc, etc, etc are offering 3 stars for their practice squads.

Take for example Westphal - clearly, he knows this. No kid who thinks he can compete and play at ND, Mich or OSU would narrow their top 3 down to MSU, Vandy and NW.

good effort though.

You're delusional. Westphal is a top 10 CB in the nation, he can play virtually where ever he wants. There are 4 and 5 star guys who couldn't start at MSU, especially on defense, as a matter of fact Lawrence Thomas is a 5 star guy who won't start this year even when he gets healthy. Sure am glad they play the games on the field and not on the recruiting sites.

Some of Bama's best players the last run have been 3 star guys, even a couple 2 star guys. Terrence Cody, Marcel Dareus, Brad Smelly, Marquis Maze, etc etc. All 3 stars. There is less of a difference between the top 50 players and the top 800 players than ever and teams know it.

Idk about ND or OSU but Michigan stopped recruiting him because they're full at corner. Doesn't change a thing about his talent just thought it was worth mentioning.

Yeah, besides Peppers, they took a low 3 star guy, they would have loved to have Westphal over Watson, Westphal just went another way. Westphal is rated about 50 spots higher just at their position.

What's more important than the services ranking though, is that our staff really likes him. The staff that has DBs starring despite being measly 2 stars. Bet there's 110 coaches in America that would love to have 2 star Trae Waynes locking down one of their corner spots at 6-1 and running a 4.32.

Watson has been outstanding this year. The reason both he and Canteen aren't rated higher is their school has like 30 students, online classes and only played 2 games last year. Its basically a football academy. They camped at Michigan, played outstanding and got offers. Not trying to turn this into a Michigan thread just trying to set the record straight.

You're comparing us to Bama and I'm the one that's delusional? that's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. How do you explain our O-Line? QB situation? How's that diamond in the rough strategy working out at TB? WR? TE? You do realize we won 3 B1G games last year, right? Sure is a good thing they play the games on the field instead of the recruiting sites - we sure showed them with that 3-5 record in the worst FBS conference in the country!!! Woo hoo! And we look as bad this year. thank God the competition is mostly worse. We have a very good defense but they haven't played a good offense since 2011 when a lot of these kids were red-shirting or seeing limited time.

Lawrence Thomas isn't starting for 2 reasons - 1) the coaching staff has moved him from defense to offense and back to defense and 2) he's been injured and has barely practiced since they moved him back to the defense after practicing w/ the offense for a year. The line has looked great against the ZERO good running backs they've faced all year (looking fwd to you jumping up and down about how they shut down Weisman who padded his stats against Missouri State, Iowa St and Minnie) but they have gotten very little penetration and QB pressure this year. I think a healthy LT who wasn't misused would have no problem starting on this defensive line.

Madre London is expected to commit to Michigan State next Monday. Probably the #3 RB on our board after Owens who is a commit and Jeff Jones who is committed to Minny. He's an absolute stud and his game film is ridiculous. Plays for one of the best teams in the nation, Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, averaged over 8 yards a carry this season playing against some of the best high school teams in the country.

We like London a lot, Nebraska and Wisconsin were our primary competition for him, but he had offers from Florida State and several SEC schools also.

RB Madre London has joined the 2014 class. The film on him is ridiculous playing against some of the best high school teams in the country. Beat out Florida State, Wisky, S Carolina, and Nebraska for him. He was the #1 RB on our board
