Jim Caldwell said he doesn't envision Jamal Agnew transitioning to a full-time offensive player. Said he's a good nickel corner. He's also their returner.

Jim Caldwell has been praised for keeping players fresh. Asked about that today -- he didn't totally agree with that. Said he'd like to see some players running faster. But players have pointed to how Caldwell manages their health as why they have had good second half runs.

Jim Caldwell, when I asked him about why most teams don't necessarily take his philosophy of how he handles players: "What's the old saying, there's so many different ways to skin a cat? PETA might not like that." Said he's kind of had his approach cemented over the years by advice he's gotten and results that have shown.

Jim Caldwell said T.J. Lang will be listed in concussion protocol today. Said concussion didn't manifest until yesterday. He was listed with illness yesterday. Said doctors weren't there until after practice and that was after the report came out. But that it did not happen in practice.

Jim Bob Cooter said he feels like his team has handled the blitz well the last two weeks, which has allowed for opportunities to take advantage of potentially big plays. Stafford had one of the biggest yards per attempt games of his career against the Packers.

Jim Bob Cooter, when asked if Brian Mihalik can play guard, smiled and said "We'll see." Said if T.J. Lang can't play from a numbers perspective they'll be OK.

Lions DC Teryl Austin said Ezekiel Ansah has "been playing well for us," and that's he's played well against the run. Said he's not "super concerned" because he can't do anything about his injuries (knee and now back). Said he might not be getting sacks but doing everything the Lions have asked of him.

Jalen Reeves-Maybin, T.J. Lang and Ezekiel Ansah out of Lions practice.
