Vegas Golden Knights

What do you guys think of the name and the logo?

Personally I think both the name and logo are stupid. Reminds me of the high school names and logos.

Super cheesy and minor leagueish. I give them 10 years at most before they move, I don't think hockey will work in Vegas. It's failed/underperformed in numerous warm weather cities (Phoenix, Atlanta, Miami)

For example look at the Las Vegas Wranglers a defunkt ECHL team from Las Vegas.

That logo is considerably more professional and definitely more engaging.

Vegas receives about 3-3.5 million visitors per month. The gamble is can these visitors can sustain the team?

For Toronto fans it will still be cheaper to fly and rent a hotel room than to watch a home game.

Well the way I see it working is that, people travel to Vegas for Vegas, and maybe some people Who travel to Vegas will travel to Vegas to see their hockey team play in Vegas as opposed to whatever other reason they would travel to Vegas at any particular time for.

Years ago when I was doing casino junketeering in Vegas for a junketeering operation, I got a call from non-less than Donald Sterling suggesting we put together A Clippers game in LA combined with the post game junket to Vegas for Highline gamblers.

It was kind of a stupid idea, the few gamblers in LA who would've been clipper fans could've just gone to a damn game and gone to Vegas without the junket.

Not that ever idea Donald Sterling every had was stupid; and he always did like the idea of gambling with other peoples money.

I kind of see NHL junkets to Vegas from all across North America as possibly more viable than Donald Sterling's idea.

I think that's why they put an NHL team in Vegas in the first place.

I guess it might be worth the gamble.

I'm sorry what did you say?

Good video though..

Pulkkinen just hopped to his 4th team in 9 months.

Total price paid is future considerations unless Arizona had a deal with Vegas.

Grabovski (NYI) and Garrison (TBL) are salary dumps to Vegas. Both teams also had players whom they wanted to protect.

2nd round (2017) from Lightning
4th round (2018) from Lightning
1st round (2017) from Islanders
2nd round (2019) from Islanders

Stock piling them picks.... Draft should be pretty exciting

They aren't done stockpiling picks.

They drafted so many D they will be trying to flip as many as possible.

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks of Anaheim managed to get to 20 years. Maybe the Las Vegas Golden Knights will, too.

Is it normal to trade for picks that far out? 2020 long way out..

Typically GMs only trade picks 2 drafts out. I dunno why Pens traded one that far out. Pens already traded the 2017 to Carolina.

Last time I recall this happening with Detroit was a 1st rounder for Chelios. 1999 deadline with the 2nd first round pick was in 2001.
