Can't expect one of the least diverse and most alt-right of administrations in the modern era to give a flying fuck about what could occur to habitable, much less uninhabitable portions of the planet, especially after they croak. The bottom line is to further enrich themselves and their billionaire benefactors, so they will offer any rebuttal that they can come up with, no matter how absurd and ridiculous that it/they are.

They also represent those xtian extremists who are flat/young Earth centric, who also believe that a Diety controls the weather, and that a rapture-judgment day will happen within their lifetimes. Applying reason, common sense, and good stewardship with such people, over our environment and only currently survivable planetary climate within the solar-system and galaxy is an exercise in abject futility.
