MSU pres. Resigns

More from City Pulse guy Todd Heywood, interview on Huge show (all unsubstantiated and bullshit)

https://audioboom.com/posts/6688816-the-huge-show-interview-todd-heywood-02-22-18

it's all audio...I didn't listen

highlights from a post on mgoblog:

-It took less than 5 days from the Payne Appling gang rape allegation to determine that they wouldn't move forward. Police got the warrant on August 30th, conducted the warrant on August 31st, interviewed Payne on September 1st (link to Payne interview), Appling Declined to be interviewed, and the MSU police decided to move forward, but on September 2nd prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III declined to bring charges. Supposedly it normally takes a month plus to go through this process.

-The MSU police destroyed evidence collected after this determination had been made. Evidence destroyed included condoms that had DNA from the victim and of two men.

-Lots of crimes not known to the public, not in regard to sexual assault, but other crimes, especially against football players since 2008.

-Says no evidence of Izzo doing anything wrong in this Payne-Appling gang rape allegation, but he was fully aware and partially involved in the quick process that didn't follow university protocol.

-MSU has a track record of not releasing info and continues to do so....on internal studies and whether or not Title IX was contacted as required by law in various cases.

Nasser's boss, & dean of MSU's medical school William Stampel was just arrested and charged with willful neglect of duty (related to Nasser's criminal behavior), and criminal sexual conduct (unrelated to Nasser), a felony, for groping a woman at a university event (link).

Also allegedly solicited nudie pics from students and had a bunch of porn on his work computer.

He probably didn't see anything wrong with Nasser's behavior. helps explain why it went on so long.

Hey how much if at all jail time is this guy looking at MC ?

if they didn't already know, MSU's insurers are probably like "Whoa... WHOA! AAAAAAH!!!" right now.

If I was a Michigan taxpayer or MSU student, I would be LIVID that Lou Anna gets to keep her retirement/pension. all the admins who's watch this went down under should be bled dry.

AND the news just keeps getting worse for these cranks... MSU spent a whopping $500K to some firm in NYC to monitor the victims and journalists covering the story's social media accounts. not a good look... for MANY reasons, MSU.

this is why you're MSU, MSU... LINK.

$600 an hour? there are big time attorneys in NYC who don't bill that much an hour.

WTF, MSU?

MSU should be thrown out of the Big 10. I feel the same way about them that I feel about Penn State. They do not deserve to be a part of the Big 10 and share in the profits the conference affords. They should be thrown out and blacklisted from joining any other major conference for at least a decade. I know it won't happen, but that's what they deserve.

Simon is still getting her $750,000 salary and an office in a historic house that just got a million dollar face lift. But her salary will drop to $562,000 next year.

edit: Just a reminder for anyone that thinks it's not fair to blame her for something that she probably didn't know about; once she knew, it was ultimately her call to run with Baylor's strategy of having lawyers give oral reports with nothing written down that could be subject to FOIA. The tone deaf, cover up, spend half a million monitoring victim's social media approach was on her watch.

so most sports sites and the freep, news, etc are reporting there's a new lawsuit filed by a victim who claimed she was raped by 3 MSU BB players in April 2015.

the players aren't named in the lawsuit, and the victim claims the MSU sexual assault advisor she reached out to discouraged her from pursuing her complaint, so she dropped out of school for a year.

probably still going to get worse before it gets better for MSU.

It's basically par for the course at this point, which is disgusting.

I'm waiting for Izzo to completely blow a gasket during an interview, and start ranting that rape isn't a crime, consent is a murky concept, and these girls are practically asking for it with the way they dress these days.

Mastercard Foundation ends $45 million program at Michigan State, citing media reports

"The Mastercard Foundation is dedicated to providing a safe environment for young people who participate in our programs," an emailed statement from the foundation began. "Due to extensive media reporting about issues involving Michigan State University (MSU), the Foundation has lost confidence in our partnership with the university."

I read this as more reason MSU alumni should be upset the ex-pres is still getting paid, but they did leave the door open with the quote for insane people to blame the media.

Michigan State's rape lawsuit statement likely violated privacy laws

https://www.freep.com/story/news/lo...rivacy-laws-statement-rape-lawsuit/509906002/

MSU is spending enough money on their defense to not be making these kinds of mistakes. Not to mention, their default reaction has been to not release information and cite privacy laws for everything else. Now they forgot about those laws? What on earth is the problem?
