Considering that Norris trophy is voted on by those hack hockey writers, odds are the top 3 in voting will be the guys with the most points. Because most points = best defenceman.
Karlsson 71 PTS
Burns 75 PTS
Hedman 70 PTS
Given the East coast bias of the hockey writers it is gonna go down to Karlsson/Hedman. Considering Hedman is way better defensively than Karlsson it would be a travesty if they vote Karlsson over Hedman.
Afterall, the guys voting for the award are the same morons who voted Ovechkin twice for team of the year. Both as LW/RW despite all receiving a memo that Ovechkin played that season as RW and should not be voted for LW.
The same morons who confuse the Hart trophy with the Ted Lindsay trophy.
Hart trophy is awarded to the "player most value to his team" and voted on by the hockey writers.
Ted Lindsay trophy is awarded to be the "most outstanding player" and voted on by the players.
There is a minor but very important distinction which the hack writers do not understand.
Hence the Lindsay is best player overall, and Hart is for best player relative to his team.
