Most of the black guys and gals in my early 70s HS years had 'fros as large or larger...including some whites, who were mostly Italians from Sicily. Doubled as handy hidden storage for pens, pencils, rulers, hair-picks, joints...

They had copied the Superfly movie actors' look.

I got a few of Gamble and a ton of Ed Ott, also Manny Sanguillen. The year I got into collecting cards 1979. Pirates beat the Orioles in the World Series. The Pirates took on the Disco song "We are Family"

I thought I would be rich when I turned 40, loading up on all the big name Rookie Cards every year of cards released after that. Strawberry, Clemens, Sandburg, Boggs.

It was fun collecting but , they ain't worth jack, ha ha

I started collecting wen I was about 8 so '73 I had a huge huge collection. 1981, at 15-16 my older brother was dating this girl who had a little boy. My mom thought it was a good idea to give him my card collection, and match box cars, I had a ton of those too. Without asking me. Such is life..
