December 4, 1949: Wally Triplett scores a 62-yard punt return touchdown in the Lions' 28-27 win over the New York Bulldogs at Briggs (Tiger) Stadium. Triplett was the first African American to be drafted and play in the NFL.
He died in 2018 at age 92.
