RIP Clyde Stubblefield

The Original Funky Drummer... he was 73. drummed for James Brown, and his beat on the song "Funky Drummer" is one of the most sampled beats in hip hop history.

a lot of his other beats are widely sampled as well.

Holy shit... the funk is dying.

His last couples decades he moved to Madison, WI, and played in local shows and bands, but he had health problems since the early 00's. A coworker and I drove up to see him back around 2009 or so. he played Monday nights.
