Ad clicking issue/preemptive goodbye

OK. McAffee found nothing. Malwarebytes did find an ad scanning program. Hopefully that will be the end of it.

I'm giving a presentation tomorrow. If the proposal gets picked up for the next phase, I'm getting myself the tool chest as a reward. American made. Either maize or blue. Wife is pushing for blue.

The software does inform me when it starts to see a trend of over-clicking. That's when I PM the person. If it continues and continues at a crazy rate, then it bans automatically as a precaution.

I have the logs, and the ads were clicked, a lot, from the IP in question. That's a fact. And it has nothing to do with malware...malware doesn't click ads. And even if that were true, it's not up to me to police everyone's computers and take care of them for them. The user does have to take some responsibility for their machine.

I haven't seen anyone say they were leaving because of it, and I would think that they'd truly understand why it was done, and that it's in the best interest of the forum to protect against that. If not, then I guess they don't really care about the forum and keeping it free for everyone.

With all due respect, it could very well have something to do with malware as I assure you I was NOT nor have I ever excessively clicked on the ads when this auto ban bot hit me. Something else is going on that hasn't fully been explained or discovered is the only conclusion I can draw. I did have some malware that is now cleaned and your no longer seeing reports from me of ad clicking so it sure seems to me that it could very well be malware related somehow.

It's probably just something picked up on some porn site by somebody here who had just been on a porn site.

porn.
