2018 Draft Position

Not according to Mitch lol. The experts were nutting over the additions of Lang and Wagner. Not Mitch tho. That OLine was overrated even if healthy. We were losing games becsuse he said so...lol

To be fair, Wagner was signed before we knew Decker would miss half the year. Lang, meanwhile was expected to be an upgrade in poss pro but a downgrade in run blocking. During FA, there may have been reason to suspect the line would be better. But once Deckers injury was known, it would have been fair to say the line didn't get better (and potentially got worse).

But it's reasonable to point out that Glasgow and Swanson had primarily been liabilities. The line shouldn't have been expected to be great even if it was healthy.

The line barely played together. Swanson, Decker, Lang missed a ton of time. And now Wagner late. Glasgow started slow but had a good year. Decker missed first 8 games and has been hindered by the shoulder

The line could have been really good. We never got to seem that play

Coulda, shoulda, woulda.

You can be the worst team in football. That does not excuse a single thing about losing to a team that literally did not want to be on the field.

They were playing very hard. They very much wanted on the field for Marvin Lewis last game. The Bengals got very healthy on D this week. When they got killed, they had a ton more defenders out.

Detroit didn't execute and it cost them. Super close to 11-5 though. As close as you can get. Such a shame

You guys love the losing way too much. We'll see what McDaniels and Patricia can do I guess

Is that why Andy Dalton was literally throwing the ball to our team at will in the first half? That team had NOTHING to play for. Spare me the Marvin Lewis crap. That place was 1/4th full, and most of those fans were Lions fans. They were absolute garbage in the first half, and they looked up at the score and said "holy shit, we are only down 1!"

Bengals were playing super hard. It was obvious. Lions were listless

Road games are tough in the NFL. Lions had costly penalties (killed two drives and extended the Bengals drives late), lack of pass rush due to injuries other than Ansah 3 sacks, lack of blocking due to injuries, drops (4 big ones) and the hit in back for the int. Prater missed and Bullock made a 50 yarder (hadn't attempted one in 2 seasons). Martin punted poorly

Everything that could go wrong did. And now the coaching staff pays for it

And why exactly were the Lions listless?

The Lions playing at 75 percent should have beat that team at 150. They are not good.

Stafford was complete crap yesterday.

That was about as much of a neutral field game that you can get. The place was damn near half empty.

Stafford was fine. 16 incompletions. 7 drops, one throw away on 3rd and forever and blasted in the back on the pick (not his fault). Stafford made winning plays. Lions dropped the game away like against Seattle last year. Stafford one of the few people who played well.

If they were super close to 11-5 they were super close to 5-11.

Not really. at Tampa and at Chicago only close wins and Lions firmly won those games despite the 3 point margin. Slow start at Chicago and let Tampa come back but Lions made more plays.

5 wins by double digits

at Vikings was a good Lions win at 14-7 on the road early

There is not one win you can take away

Now the Falcons, Steelers games were super close two yards from wins. So 11-5 is on the table, nothing worse than 8 losses. Come backs against Saints and Panthers that fell short.

at Baltimore and at Cincy fell apart late. Led Bengals in 4th.

Vikings game on Thanksgiving, Vikings just a lot healthier and Stafford couldn't come back on the bad ankle

Eh whatever. That's what makes the good teams good, they capitalize and overcome. The Lions are the worst NFL franchise in history for good reason.

Best the Lions can pick is 16th

Cowboys win, we'll have to see how SoS shakes out

Unfortunately the Giants won today which hurts the Lions

Actually, looking over the last games, San Diego and Buffalo's opponents are only going to lower their SoS. In reality, the best the Lions can do is probably 18th.

allot of qbs going to go early this year which should push some Talent down. I was hoping for one of the Clemson DEs...i think we needed to be around 16 to get one. Back to the drawing board. Caldwell with one last fuck you by winning a completely meaningless game.

We secure pick 20... the last pick for any non playoff team. Good job lions... ruin playoff hopes and draft position. Dumb fucks.

#20 overall picks since 2009

2009 - Brandon Petigrew TE
2010 - Kareem Jackson CB
2011 - Adrian Clayborn DE
2012 - Kendall Wright WR
2013 - Kyle Long G
2014 - Brandin Cooks WR
2015 - Nelson Agholor WR
2016 - Darron Lee OLB
2017 - Garrett Boles OT

Kyle Long is the lone player of the group to make the Pro Bowl. It should be noted that there have been a ton of Pro Bowlers/All Pros taken between 21-27, pick #20 seems to be a bit of a black hole lately.
