I get we don't have much to turn to behind Quinn, but this seems like a bad move. The article lays it out pretty plainly, but Quinn is old. If he doesn't start missing a bunch of games to injury, his play is going to drop off a cliff any year now. It's great that he thinks he's got 3 or 4 more good years left, but history suggests he's already on the decline. Unless he's willing to take a prove-it deal (non-guaranteed years), I just wouldn't sign him. After next season he'll be 32. Even if he's good, there's little reason to predict he'll maintain that going forward.

Killebrew was drafted to take over eventually. If he's not good enough, there's a whole new draft next summer. Locking in old guys for market-value contracts is poor management.
 
Three years 18 million sounds right. Backload year 3 so really two year deal with fluff like tj Lang deal


Would make him 18th highest paid safety. He is 26th right now
