Great news. He was productive and can be even more productive. Roberts may be the red zone guy now though

I'm not thrilled with Ebron, but it gives him another year to develop and prove himself and the money really wasn't going to be put anywhere else. A good decision I think.

I think they guy has improved each of his three seasons thus far. I like the move. He's got another year to prove he's worth the top 10 pick and top 10 money.

He doesn't catch touchdowns. Big target that is more worthless in the redzone than any TE in recent memory

I don't see him top 10 money unless he's catching a bunch of TD. Yards are easy to come by.. Gotta get those 10-12 TD a year.

Honestly I'm not sure I will have exercised that deal..

I was hoping they'd trade him during the draft. Hopefully Ebron misses a majority of the season, I want to see the rook in the red zone

Looking his numbers up, 8th in yards with TE - and TE with at least 2 TE's .. freaking 41. Not sure what constitutes a TE or WR but that's a lot.

Ebron was 8th in yards despite missing 3 games. He is highly productive and a playmaker. He had 2 TDs (one pass and one rush). He can have more. Ebron had 5 TDs in 2015. He is certainly capable.

He is a big time weapon and hard to cover. Great job picking up his option.

Stafford and Ansah are the only Lions drafted higher than Ebron. He hasn't proved he was worthy of being selected that high yet. Especially since 6 of the next 7 players drafted that year have made the pro bowl.

But I love the line in the mlive story describing Ebron's position.

Ebron, meantime, is more of an "F" tight end in the offense, doing his best work split out in space.

I have always add a F before his name too.

Problem is any TE could have success here. Ebron is under performing. 1 TD dude, 1!!!!!

when youre qb doesnt look for you in the red zone....that says something about how much he trusts the guy. All those targets went to bolden, tate and riddick.

Well EE gets one more sesson to prove himself . You would think coming from New England Quinn would use the tight end more often. Then Maybe It's Stafford.

I don't see Ebron getting more red zone looks with Fells and Roberts on the roster. I think the offense will show a lot more run looks inside the 10.

Ebron won't be on the field. Just look at him like a chain mover. Maybe we won't be as disappointed with our MUN.

Ebron had 5 tds in 2015. 2 in 2016. He can do more and has the talent. He did alot with chunk plays. He is a good weapon. Glad he is here two more seasons

That's a good point. Weather he's capable or not of being a Red zone target or not. Apparently he's not one of the top choices to get that ball.

I am OK with picking up the option on the deal. WE have a lot of cap room next year and it gives him another year. Also it is only guaranteed if he gets injured bad. So its a low risk move.
