Game 63 Diamondbacks @ Tigers 6-13-2017

NOTABLE:
Tigers starter Buck Farmer hadn't allowed a run in 13 innings pitched this season, but that streak quickly expired in the first inning.

The Diamondbacks scored two runs on five singles (including two that didn't leave the infield) in the first. They knocked Farmer out of the game in the third with much harder contact, including home runs by Paul Goldschmidt and Brandon Drury.

Tigers left-handed reliever Chad Bell, recalled Sunday from Triple-A Toledo, pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings, picking up where he left off before being optioned.
Bell began his Major League career by throwing 7 2/3 scoreless innings in four consecutive appearances last month.

With his double in the sixth inning, Miguel Cabrera moved into a tie with Tigers great Al Kaline for 36th place all-time in runs batted in. They both have 1,582 RBIs.
That's just one behind No. 35, Harmon Killebrew, and 10 behind No. 34, Andre Dawson.

Tigers third baseman Nicholas Castellanos extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a single fifth. He added another base hit in the six-run sixth inning.

Justin Upton went 0-for-3 with a walk, snapping his 10-game hit streak.

With the loss, the Tigers fall to 30-33. The Tigers are 10-8 in one-run games.

Boxscore.

Roars:
Chad Bell and Francisco Rodriguez combined for 4 1⁄3 scoreless innings and four strikeouts.

J.D. Martinez hit a MONSTER home run in the sixth.

Hisses:
Buck Farmer really didn?t have it tonight. His final line was ugly: 2 1⁄3 innings, nine hits, six runs, two home runs, no walks, and six strikeouts.

Alex Wilson and Justin Wilson gave up five hits in two innings between them, including the go-ahead run in the ninth.

Stats and stuff:

Miggy's 2 Doubles moves him past the great Lou Gehrig's 534, to # 40 place with 535 career doubles.

J.D. Martinez?s home run was the second-longest hit in MLB during the Statcast era.

Tonight was the second-shortest start of Buck Farmer?s major league career. His shortest start was August 23, 2014, when he went 1 1⁄3 innings in his second MLB start.

The Diamondbacks have won every one of Zack Greinke?s starts this season.

The Tigers are 3 games under .500 and 4 games out of first place in the AL Central. Today is June 14th time is just about up.

i'll be away for the next 4 days. Someone ensure to post negative stuff during the games in my absence.
