Newly recalled outfielder Matt den Dekker will be available off the bench,
but Andrew Romine will get the start in center field for the Detroit Tigers on Friday.
Alex Presley was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list on Friday.
It's a national league park, so there will be no designated hitter, meaning Tigers starter Michael Fulmer will get a rare opportunity to hit.

Detroit visits San Diego for just 2nd time since 2008.
Notable:
The Tigers have lost six in a row and have dropped into last place in the AL Central for the first time this season.

Detroit has played just three games against San Diego since 2008. The Padres took two of three against the Tigers in 2014 at Petco Park.

Fulmer has lost his past two starts and has struggled in the month of June. He has allowed 13 earned runs in 18 innings in three June starts.

Perdoma did not earn his first win this season until his 11th start. The second-year pitcher lost his last start despite giving up just two runs in six innings against Milwaukee.
San Diego’s offense is last in the majors at 3.58 runs per game. They also are last in doubles (90), batting average (.227) and hits (548).
The Padres are 1-3 in their past four games, scoring a combined six runs. They are fourth place in the NL West – 18.5 games behind the first-place Dodgers.

Tigers vs. Padres Preview: Luis Perdomo is a ground ball machine.
If the Tigers can elevate the ball, they should have success against Perdomo.

Would have really liked to have seen van man get some at bats in this series..poor rotation planning

I have a gut feeling Iggy is going to be dealt before the tigers leave SD

Nicholas Castellanos a last-minute scratch with lower-back tightness. Dixon Machado will play third base, bat No. 6.

How did the tigers end up with this guy anyway
