"There already have been 422 regular-season games lost through Dec. 14 because of the lockout, and the latest cuts on Day 86 of the league shutdown claimed an additional 104. The NHL previously called off the New Year's Day Winter Classic, as well as the All-Star Game."

"In all, the 526 lost games account for nearly 43 percent of the regular season that had been scheduled to begin Oct. 11."

So a professional sports league that still hasn't completely recovered from its last complete lockout season during '04-'05, is just making itself even more irrelevant to casual sports fans, as well as angering and frustrating its more hardcore and avid followers.

C'est la vie...

I cant believe these dumbass people cant come to an agreement to save the league.

The bottom line in most sports, owners have the upper hand. They always do, and that's okay - they're sick of paying huge contracts. It makes sense and when players realize that fact and they get enough revenue as it, they'd shut up and work it out. I'm always for the owners because its there money and as a fan, less money to players probably means a savings at the box office.

Absolute horse hockey that the players are on strike again. Owners won't budge, they get their income elsewhere and being an owner is a novelty, a hobby. Stupid to demand more from someone who can simply say no and walk away when you need that money to support your over-paid lifestyle.
