Jon Kitna had held the mark with 12 straight during a 2006 game.

What's more: Stafford was actually 16 of 17 to open the game, with the lone misfire coming on a ball that hit TJ Jones in both hands but was dropped.
So if Jones made that catch, Stafford would have opened the game with 17 straight completions.

Stafford finished the half 19 of 23 passing anyway with one touchdown and no picks -- a red-hot effort that has helped keep New Orleans' high-powered offense off the field.
