Anyone else looking forward to this? Predictions?

Mine:

Mayweather D12 Unanimous
Canelo TKO 6

Not really into boxing anymore....The sport has been lagging for years...

The only fight I would be exicted for is Pacman v Mayweather, but it's never going to happen.

This is a great fight and Cotto is back at his peak and at the weight he is best at. I look for hm to give Mayweather a fight, but to lose on a TKO in 10 or 11.

Mosley is getting KOed in 7.

When i lived in Vegas my friend got free tickets to Leonard-Hearns II, The War. June 12th 1989. I was still a ticket writer and not a supervisor in the sportsbook so i had to beg to get off early.. I took street clothes and changed in our back room.. I had to meet jay over at Ceaser's Palace to get my ticket.. I was running to get there on time and I was going back and forth running between the two entrances and I thought i was going to miss him.. As i was turning to go back to the front entrance Jay was on a chair looking for me and he turned to go back into the arena.. He did not see me yet... I was yelling, and in the arena the fighters were announced and the anthem was playing. Just was he was gong to go through the day i yelled and he turned and saw me... We grabbed some beers and ran to our seats...As we go to our seats the bell for round one rang..... Perfect timing.. I have that ticket framed with my two Rose bowl tickets.. The MSU win over USC in 1988, and the Michigan win over USC ib 1989.. Had to beg to get those days off two!!!! Probably the 3 biggest sporting events i have been two by far..

Oh and Hearn's kicked Leonard's Ass and the match was declared a damn draw..

Cool story...You me and the rest of Michigan know Hearns won.

Unless Mosley runs for 8-10 rounds again.

you never bet against Mayweather. But especially in this fight. Last time he fought someone that punched this slow was the Gatti fight....Gattis face looked like hamburger meat.

V.True. When does Floyd start to slow? The guy is 35.

He's already slowed, but unlike Roy Jones Jr. Floyd's defense is based more on smarts and position than just plain old lightning reflexes.

Jones was a favorite of mine, he was just other worldly fast and was able to break all of the rules just because he was so much faster than anyone else, but I always said to people, watch, when Jones gets old and he loses just a little he will start getting knocked out because he takes huge risks and those punches will eventually start catching him.

Floyd's style is more about never getting caught out of position so he doesn't have to use his reflexes as much as Jones did. The hand speed is still there and he's the most accurate puncher in boxing IMO. Mayweather is slower now than he was 10 years ago, but he's smarter and almost never gets caught in a bad position anymore. He looks like he moves a lot less, but he's really just a lot more efficient and moves exactly how and when he has to. Floyd's best attribute along with defense is his ability to make his opponent pay a price for their mistakes. Every single time you lunge an inch too far, turn a couple inches inside the wrong way, get your feet wrong, or leave yourself open after a punch, Floyd hits you, he makes you pay a price, this plays right into his defense as guys get more and more desperate and make more and more mistakes as the fight goes on. He's a genius in the ring and I think he's got a couple more years of being close to his best. Floyd gives you no angles to hit him.

Cotto has always been a favorite of mine, he's a counter puncher too. His hand speed is better than people give him credit for, or at least it used to be. The 1st Margarito fighter might have ruined him, he took a terrible beating that fight. He actually was more than holding his own early in the Pacquaio fight and I thought he might have Manny in trouble, but Pacquaio just wore him down. Expect to see Floyd moving to his left a lot even though Cotto is right handed he's got a killer left hook that represents his best power punch.

It's a good fight to be made and Cotto is only 31 so he could be at or near his peak if he's recovered from the wars he's had in the ring enough. I think he'll do fine the 1st few rounds, but Floyd is just too good and it will be a blowout before a late round stoppage.

Being a good counter puncher wont help much when youre fighting Floyd....you try countering one of his jabs hes gonna check hook you to the mat. Hes way to defensive in nature. Cotto will need to somehow get inside and work the body if hes looking for a late round win. Late round stoppage win for Floyd and Canelo knocks out Mosely.

Cool to see we have some fight fans. Good analysis johnny. Would be nice to see a KO but I think Cotto goes the distance, even if he gets into trouble or is dropped in one of the later rounds.

had it 8 rounds to 4. Mayweather + Bieber + HHH = unstoppable. Viva grand rapids, MI!

I had Floyd winning 9 rounds, but it was a competitive fight.

It's all about the body work, I wish some day the announcers would pay attention to the body work. Cotto did good body work, that's why Floyd looked gassed and why Floyd made more mistakes than usual. Floyd also went to the body when he knew he would need to take away something from Cotto, that's why Cotto couldn't make Floyd pay later in the fight for his mistakes.

Floyd looked humans tonight and 154 isn't his best weight, but he obviously was the better man tonight, even though Cotto looked about as good as he has since the Mosely fight. Good fight.

i think floyd is starting to get it. If he wanted to dominate, beat the crap out of cotto, and not get touched....all he had to do was stay outside. But instead he made it entertaining by hanging on the ropes and fighting inside every other round. Floyd was seriously untouchable when he stayed outside and beating on miguels right ear time and time again followed by an uppercut. He probably gained 10-20 thousand extra ppv buys for his next fight simply by making it a fun fight to watch. He, and only he dictated what he was doing in that fight.
