What a crock of shit. Kid dominates in his first appearance, and gets sent back down so we have a long relief pitcher for the weekend.. instead of releasing Sanchez like everyone with half a brain knows should happen. The people in charge of this team are just complete morons.

Is this a joke? You have got to be shitting me! WTF

completely disapprove of this.

This actually kinda pisses me off, Tiger Fans around the world want to see this guy become our new closer he's ready, there is nothing left for him to prove in the minors and he deserved to stay.

Tigers option RHP Joe Jimenez to Triple-A Toledo, recall William Cuevas.
Jimenez threw a scoreless inning in his major league debut on Thursday.

Tigers call up Cuevas for bullpen, send down Jimenez.

This is pure unadulterated bullshit. Avila and Ausmus don't have the testicular fortitude to get rid of Sanchez and they bring up an unknown for long relief.
Fuck Tigers management!!

Cuevas, 26, pitched in three games for the Red Sox in 2016 and was signed by the Tigers as a minor-league free agent during the past offseason. He had made one start for the Mud Hens, Monday against Louisville, when he pitched six innings, allowing three hits, striking out six, and walking three.
Cuevas last season pitched in three games for the Red Sox, covering five innings. He allowed five hits, struck out three — and walked six batters.

He pitched for the Tigers during spring camp and gave his bosses in Detroit reason to believe he could, at some point, help a bullpen that once again is under the gun.

“He throws strikes,” Ausmus said, focusing more on this year’s work. “He comes after you. He has a sweeping breaking ball. "Fuck You Brad look at his K's to Walks ratio"

Gotta get the extra year outta Jimenez so he can't be on the roster too long. For a second there I thought the brass cared about winning. My mistake.

How many long relievers they need? They already have Anibal "I shit the bed again" Sanchez, and Shane "This is only team that would hire me" Greene.

Not only do they send down their most talented reliever, but they probably fucked his confidence on top of it.

The confidence issue. This team has never learned how to manage that in its pitchers. Stupid move.

It's the reason he was sent down. I mean "we need long reliever's in Cleveland." I mean, what?

If there was ever a sign that this team has no expectations of winning this season, this decision reeks of it.

No faith in the starters.

I wonder if Avila went to Sanchez to see if he would take a minor league assignment so he could work on things. That is the move that should have been made. Maybe they did and Sanchez declined?

From a business standpoint, I understand why they might not want to just release Sanchez. You are basically writing a $21M check to have him gone. I think you have to give him some more chances to figure it out before you release him. Like it or not, if one of the starters gets hurt or one of the young guys falters, he is probably next in line to be the #5

But why bring up the other guy? I've never heard a manager say we need long relievers. Plus, we already have 2.

Tigers top prospect Joe Jimenez's back injury more serious than initially thought. Joe Jimenez will be sidelined for at least a month.
