Trump seeks tax windfall for business

well, since we were talking about income tax in the united states, the Romans are irrelevant. If I were Warden Norton, you would get 2 weeks in the hole!

The U.S. did not invent the income tax. And neither did it in any way whatsoever draw influence from the Romans. [SARCASM] If you are Norton and I am Dufresne, well, I'll take my ultimate outcome over your own.

actually, the original intent was to fund the civil war

I was under the impression the modern method of income taxation stemmed from the 16th ammendment.

Was the income tax enacted during civil war a permanent fixture or temporary?
