Game 9: Minnesota @ Detroit; April 13, 2017

Nick leads the team in hard hit balls with nothing to show for it, he should have at least 6 more hits than he does

Crazy just yesterday Brad was getting some praise. Suddenly he's lost his mind.

Romine leading off has nothing to do with the fact this team gave up 11 runs to this point.

Ideally I'd like to see iggy lead off but he needs to get more hits for that it work out properly

Back ups already wtf Brad there are still 6 outs, what you don't beleive the offense can put up an 8 yet?

I do not approve

The two guys with a home today none the less, is that their reward for hitting hun runs today? Extra two innings off

There were a handful of teams that went with 13 man pitching staff. Tigers do have Romine that can play any where. Why not look into it?

PUTTING Sanchez in down ONE run had a whole bunch too do with it, with 2 runners on!

Again, what's he supposed to do? Zimmerman clearly doesn't have it either.

He's a wimpy give up manager Imo.

His best split last three seasons is leading off an inning at .288. So leading off would be leading off an inning right? All thou his none on stat is only .275. So that tells me he 's better with no outs. Which he should be better in the lead off spot, unless he can not take the pressure there.

FU Sanchez, get out of Detroit, take the two asswipe "In over their heads" Ausmus and Al Avila with you.
and I am starting to have the same feeling for Zimmermann.
David Chadd can GTFO of Detroit too. He is the shit head who said to sign pelfrey for 2 years. Fongoola to him.

ROARS:
Miguel Cabrera: He?s been warming up for the last four games, and on Thursday the drought came to a crashing halt. Cabrera hit an opposite field on the first pitch against Phil Hughes in the first inning. And he crushed it.

Justin Upton: It was a pointless addition score-wise, but Upton finally homered. He hit a two-run shot in the sixth that made it an 11-4 deficit.

Joe Jimenez: Hey, a rare bright point. He made a 1-2-3 debut in the ninth with a K.

HISSES:
Jordan Zimmermann: Looked shaky at the start and didn?t make it out of the fifth inning. Gave up a homer and walked five batters.

Anibal Sanchez: Melted down quicker than Zimmermann. The dugout expression after he gave up the first of two home runs said it all.

STATS AND INFO:
Miguel Cabrera?s first home run of the season was the 447th of his career, and his 309th with the Tigers. He is now two home runs shy of tying Jeff Bagwell and Vladimir Guerrero for 38th in MLB history.

With Cabrera?s homer, the Tigers have dingered in nine straight games, tying the Indians for the last time a club homered in consecutive games (in 2012).

Jordan Zimmermann walked back-to-back batters in the fourth inning for the first time since May 6, 2012. He had 142 consecutive starts without walking two in a row.
Zimmermann walked three batters in the fourth inning. The last time he walked that many in one inning was Oct. 1, 2016 in the fourth to the Braves.

The Tigers have given up three home runs and 11 runs in a game for the second time this season. They gave that number up (though only seven were earned runs) on April to the White Sox in an 11-2 loss.
The last time all runs were earned was on Sept. 25, 2016 in a 12-9 loss to the Royals. The Tigers gave up 12 runs and allowed four homers in that game.

Jacoby Jones hit his first career triple in the ninth inning. Then later scored to force this recap to be updated throughout.

Tiger Management logic, hit a home run get the 8th and 9th off, pitch a 1-2-3 easy 9th in your major league debut pack your bags and head back to the Toldeo cuz we anticipate getting shelled in Cleveland and will need another long receiver since Sanchez blows and we still aren't quite willing to buy him out and move on just yet.
