Game 14 Tigers vs. Rays April 19, 2017

went to bed in the 7th. WTF?

Just watched the last play of the game. That was definitely a routine double play ball hit right at Ian. Iggy fucked that up royally. It looked like he had his foot behind the bag and tripped over it. Pitching and defense 100% to blame for this one.

Agreed and amazingly we were only charged with 1 error. I expected to see at least 4 in the box score lol

This might be 20/20 hindsight, but why did Iglesias even attempt a throw in that situation?

ROARS:

Francisco Rodriguez loaded the bases with no one out to start the ninth. He would go to a 3-2 count on Souza before getting a questionable called third strike from home plate umpire Larry Vanover. He did induce what should have been a game-ending double play, but it was not to be, and his poor outing cost the Tigers a much-needed win.

FYI replay on the 3rd strike call, showed he did commit to a swing that broke the plate and foul line, so it was a strike. The beef was the home ump did not ask the 1st base ump for help. The replay clearly shows the bat in front of Souza, his Inge style check swing did commit.

When the HPU knows the batter went, there is no need for him to grant an appeal. They don't guess at that call.

I'm just curious . Why be in such a over shift and not set up in just double play depth ? Iggy's footwork was all messed up because he was freaking way over behind the bag. He just t didn't adjust his footwork properly. Shame the bullpen and defense cost Tigers another win.
