Game 20 Seattle @ Detroit 4-26-2017

Stealing up 6 after seven innings verses a pitcher who dosent care ?

Mike Pelfrey, who was granted his unconditional release late in spring training before signing a minor-league deal with the White Sox, is scheduled to start on Friday against the Tigers.

Pelfrey, 33, went 4-10 with a 5.07 ERA and 1.73 WHIP with the Tigers last season, the first of a two-year, $16 million contract.
He was released in spring training along with righty reliever Mark Lowe, who was signed to a two-year, $11 million deal during the same off-season.

Pelfrey will oppose lefty Matt Boyd.

Agree on machado just consider lettuce the back up SS and use the roster spot to keep hicks or adduci if they continue to hit, machado is unimpressive

Well...at least gopher didn't walk anybody! We have that

Another 9 spot needed for the win

I knew Paxton would pitch well for them.

What sucks is we still have the same shithook bullpen hacks who make the other teams lead increase. When are they going to get rid of these fucking shitbums Sanchez and this other hack Greene. He has sucked since coming over from new york. f'n bunch of pukes.

Send machado down when iggy comes off the DL tomorrow imo that would be the best move there

ROARS:
Victor Martinez: Had a hit and outran a strikeout-wild pitch to reach first base in his second at-bat of the night.

HISSES:
Paxton baffled the Tigers for seven innings Wednesday, striking out nine, all in the first five innings. Three of the first five to face him were called out on strikes, and he allowed only four hits.
Nelson 'Roid Boy' Cruz?s home run was his 11th at Comerica Park, tied for second-most among active players as visitors.

Daniel Norris: Struggled with his command with the exception of the fourth inning, and was behind in the count a lot. He didn?t make it out of the fifth inning.

Tigers offense: No surprise, but the Tigers couldn?t string together any key hits for runs.

The bullpen: Green and Sanchez managed to double the Mariners? score (though Greene?s walked in run was credited to Norris). At least the bullpen wasn?t burned out, using only two relief pitchers to finish the game.

Anibal Sanchez pitched the final four innings, striking out five but allowing four runs. Ironically, it was four years ago today that he struck out 17 Braves hitters.

STREAKS AND INFO:
Everything was depressing and nothing was good, so here are some fun facts we learned in the ?Getting to know your Tigers? broadcast:

James McCann once taped his brother to a desk chair to force him to study.
Michael Fulmer was a mathlete.
Andrew Romine used to walk up to ?The Circle of Life? from The Lion King in the minors.

NOTABLE:
Tigers starter Daniel Norris has gone fewer than five innings yet thrown more than 100 pitches in each of his last two starts.

In the fourth inning, Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez hustled down to first base on a dropped third strike that eluded catcher Mike Zunino, who was charged with a passed ball.
Paxton still ended up striking out the side in the inning and stranding Martinez on the base paths.

Tigers first baseman John Hicks continues to swing a hot bat. In fact, he might have been the only Tiger to hit Paxton hard all night. He barreled a double to deep left-center in the second inning.
He's now 7-for-13 since being recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Saturday.
