That's true.

But the article referred to lots of other asteroids that didn't or won't hit the earth.

Perhaps the article should have been titled One of Countless Asteroids that Didn't or Won't Hit the Earth.

Yeah.

We'll all probably be long dead from a thermo nuclear holocaust before that happens though.

Or we'll all be either drown underwater or incinerated (or both) as a result of climate change or global warming.

And both are more likely now that Trump is in the White House.

Although an extinction level asteroid strike is more likely while Trump is president, too.

It would be like the Universe saying "you fuckers actually elected that ass faced assholes President of the United States? Fuck all of you!! Take this extinction level natural calamity, you sons of bitches, and shove it up your collective asses!!!"

The only thing to be concerned about is ensuring the continuance of private, corporate, and investor profits. Needless preparations for catastrophe cause these VIPs to suffer short-term losses, while any long-term negative consequences of profit-taking, should be the responsibility of the near future generations born of the hoi-polloi. So for example, cutting back on carbon emissions, regulating the exploration and curbing the use of non-renewable fossil fuels, a significant reduction in polluting the seas with plastic waste and groundwater/rivers/lakes from chemical discharge, fracking, and mining should be avoided.

The wealthy 10% of inheritors, producers, and their unproductive family members/cherished relatives/descendants deserve to be a protected tax-exempt class, (ala synagogues/churches/temples) while the current and future 90% labor-class consumers are taxable and highly expendable. If many of the latter die of water or food poisoning, or from the lack of potable water and/or a sufficient nutritional diet....so what?

Genocidal addition by population subtraction FTW!!

Survival of the most fittest and fortunate=social/fiscal Darwinism.
