New Baseball

Though I agree fans won't come because a shorter game. But Manfred believes so and is making stupid rules.

The top of the strike zone is defined in the Major League Official Rules as a horizontal line at the midpoint between the top of the batter's shoulders and the top of the uniform pants. The bottom of the strike zone is a line at the hollow beneath the kneecap, both determined from the batter's stance as the batter is prepared to swing at the pitched ball. The right and left boundaries of the strike zone correspond to the edges of home plate.

Thy already have the rule, haven't enforced it for 30 years..

The IBB. Saving 20 seconds every 2.7 games is stupid. Serves no purpose.

having a pitcher throw a ball 3' wide of the plate just to put someone on 1B when it could be accomplished with a signal from the manager serves no purpose either.

There are some pitcher that cannot do this. There has been either Balks or Wild Pitches/Passed Balls thrown in the process of doing a IBB. While it is rare, it is a possible outcome.

I like the IBB. There's tension involved. And there was the IBB-K in the 1972 WS that Fingers and Tenace pulled on Bench. Keep the IBB.

Well here's the thing-if you wanted to pull that by surprise, you could just do that. Instead of the manager giving the hand motion For the walk, the catcher could just stand up and hold out his hand the old-fashioned way.

That would really catch them off their guard.
