Detroit Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias is back in the starting lineup Thursday after missing the last two starts with a minor wrist injury.
Iglesias entered as a defensive substitution in the ninth inning on Wednesday and manager Brad Ausmus said he could have played more if needed.

Baltimore Orioles

14 GS, 64 2/3 IP, 96 H, 55 ER, 14 HR, 32 BB, 50 K, 6.00 FIP

Who: Detroit Tigers (49-57) vs Baltimore Orioles (53-54)
When: 7:05 p.m. EDT
Where: Camden Yards
TV: Fox Sports Detroit
Radio: FM 97.1 The Ticket and the Tigers radio network

Notable
The Orioles have won five in a row and are 2.5 games out of the second wild card spot.

Tigers catcher James McCann is on a 12-game hitting streak. He is 19 for 44 (.432) during that span.

Boyd has won his past three starts since being called up from Toledo. He has allowed nine runs in 19 1/3 innings (4.19 ERA).
Boyd?s only other career start against the Orioles, which was earlier this season, did not go well. He gave up seven runs on eight hits in 2 1/3 innings.

Tillman is coming off one of his worst outings of the year, allowing eight runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings against the Rangers.
Tillman has dominated Detroit in his career with a 6-0 record and 2.45 ERA in nine starts.
Notable Tigers vs Tillman: Ian Kinsler .259 (7 for 27, 1 HR), Victor Martinez .300 (6 for 20, 1 HR), Miguel Cabrera .250 (5 for 20, 1 HR).

Three things to watch for in this game
The Tigers are hopeful shortstop Jose Iglesias can return to their lineup after missing the past two games with a sprained right wrist suffered on a swing Monday night against the Yankees.

In three starts since returning to the Majors, Boyd's average exit velocity allowed is just 81.8 mph. That tied for second lowest among starters who generated at least 50 batted balls in July, behind only Clayton Kershaw.

Orioles infielder Ryan Flaherty remains on a Minor League rehab assignment. He hasn't played since May 18 in Detroit, after which he went on the DL with right shoulder tendinitis.

Tigers By The Numbers
Overall: 49-57
Current streak: W2
At Comerica Park: 27-25
On the road: 22-32
Day games: 23-15
Night games: 26-42
vs. AL East: 12-11
vs. AL Central: 24-22
vs. AL West: 8-18
vs. NL: 4-6

All-Time DETROIT leads 1052-957

After Wednesday's win, the Tigers' final projected record by FiveThirtyEight is 77-85. The site gives Detroit a 5 percent chance of making the playoffs and a 2 percent chance of winning the division.

Glad McCann is hitting well.. Still only .618 OPS vs RHP but over. 1.000 vs LHP.

This looks familiar. Tigers leading 2-0 in a lengthy rain delay.

Boyd needs 20 pitches but strikes out the side. Using his curve and changeup and getting last 2 batters to climb the ladder with his 93/94 FB.

The changeup looked really good that inning. Who taught this kid that pitch? He wasn't pitching this well before he was sent down.

Still hard to believe Meathook is wearing Inge's old number 15 and that the number wasn't retired by the team.

Great job by Mcann. Had a 3-0 count at one point then promptly grounds into a triple play.

I just realized this game is still in the 3rd inning. I honestly thought it was the 5th or 6th inning. Feels like it's taking forever.

That game vs. the yankees with the 2 rain delays totaling 4 hours and 40 minutes.

Rain delay for this game I won't see the end of it either.

The 4th and 5th innings here and Boyd appears to be starting to struggle/tiring.

Get the win all that matters.

Pitchers best friend the double play,

Miggy limping back to the dugout?

Man it is Easy to hate relief pitchers who walk batters..
