Holland has taken a ton of shit lately, but I actually think this is a good move. Big fan of Daley.

This makes me wonder if Kronwall has a 1-way ticket to Franzen island.

Looks like Wings gonna lose Sproul or Ouellet on waivers.

34 and misses 30 games a year. Our defense was atrocious so this helps but it's a meh move..

33 ain't that old in hockey years. As long as he can play, that is all that matters.

33 is old for hockey and most sports. Regression typically has taken hold and is due to snowball within the next few years.

There is a reason why players 35+ are discriminated against under the CBA.

A lot of older players in the NHL are still damn good.

It is hard to maintain that level of play in the NBA and NFL, but older guys are still super impactful in the NHL and MLB.

They can be good yes. But on average level of play drops and he's already had injuries the past two years.. so 1+1 equals, not a great move.

Just hope there is a non trade clause involved. Franson would have been a much better target.

Nobody is saying players in mid-late 30s can't contribute. However, regression is always a concern. More importantly, that is the primary reason most these guys won't get more than a single year deal.

Vanek (33) - 48 pts in 68 gp
Jagr (45) - 46 pts in 82 gp
Marleau (37) - 46 in 82 gp
Markov (38) - 36 pts in 62 gp
Gionta (38) - 35 pts in 80 gp
Parenteau (34) - 28 pts in 67 gp
Streit (39) - 27 pts in 68 gp
Iginla (40) - 27 pts in 80 gp
Hudler (33) - 11 pts in 32 gp (missed most season with illness)

Believe Thornton is still technically available.

Also got Beauchemin (37), Wideman (34), Hemsky (33), Ribeiro (37), Neil (38), Campbell (38), Doan (40), Fiddler (37), Upshall (33)

Again if they even get deals don't expect more than a single year.
