Caldwell Extended

I do not think we can take the next step with him as our head coach. He is too conservative in close games. Having Caldwell as coach is like having the "keep games close" option ON in Madden.

Lions sign Jim Caldwell to extension.

Jim Caldwell?s multi-year deal was signed months ago, just not disclosed.
Deal silences speculation he was in last year of deal.
Obviously, the extension doesn?t necessarily mean Caldwell will be around long-term. If the team struggles, they could always decide to part ways with him, but this is the first tangible sign that Quinn is fully in Caldwell?s corner at the moment.
Caldwell is currently 29-21 during his tenure as head coach of the Detroit Lions.

Caldwells biggest strength is his ability to find good staff. Unfortunately his own coaching skill doesn't look so good.

Since 2014 when Jim Caldwell took over the Lions head coaching position, they have the 10th best record in the NFL.

I'm confident in quin and the coordinators. At this point in time Caldwell just needs to be a figurehead. He really needs to stop fucking up games though.... there's been to many instances of poor clock management and/or inability to act/ challenge on blatent calls.

And as booger pointed out... the shell we go into when up 2 scores is ridiculous. Sometimes it's even 1 score.

Not keen on being kept out of the loop, when we fans who support the team directly or indirectly, voluntarily or involuntarily, are not told when a HC gets an extension, we don't know when, for how long, or his salary.
