PFF?s highest graded Detroit Lions through 4 games.
A look at the top performers through the first 4 weeks of the Lions? season.

The bye week is a good time to look back on how the first quarter of the season has gone for the Detroit Lions. Obviously, everyone is feeling pretty good right now after an extremely competitive game with the Kansas City Chiefs. Of course, nothing is perfect, but Detroit has put a competitive product on the field in all four games, which is more than we could say at this time last year.

This week, PFF released the highest three graded players on the Lions. Let?s take a look:
Offensively:
G Graham Glasgow- 82.6 OVR, #3 G
WR Kenny Golladay- 78.2 OVR, #17 WR
WR Marvin Jones Jr.- 77.6 OVR, #18 WR

Detroit is getting some great production and play out of their wide receivers, as the Lions? passing offense is really starting to take off under new offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. Both Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. are sporting good grades, and the fact that Detroit has two receivers in PFF?s top 20 is a good sign.

But it?s starting right guard Graham Glasgow who steals the show with the third-highest PFF grade among all NFL guards. If your first thought is, ?Then why are the Lions rotating him out for Kenny Wiggins during the game?? you are not alone.

Defensively:
CB Justin Coleman- 81.9 OVR, T-#3 CB
EDGE Trey Flowers- 76.6 OVR, #22 EDGE
EDGE Romeo Orkwara- 73.3 OVR, #33 EDGE

When your top two graded players on defense are the two players you committed the most money to in free agency this offseason, that has to feel good. It?s no surprise that Justin Coleman is on top?and is the third-highest rated corner in the league?after he?s strung together some fantastic performances against good pass offenses.

The Trey Flowers grade may be a little surprising to some, as the defensive end had a slow start to the season and has only recorded a single sack so far. But this reinforces the idea that Flowers? value isn?t in gaudy sack numbers, but reliable, disciplined play.
