Detroit Lions Podcast Episode 234 ? Lions & Packers An Official Mess ft. Dean Blandino. 72 minutes.

In this episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris is joined by Fox Sports Rules Analyst Dean Blandino. After this week?s officiating debacle in Green Bay, Lions fans have a lot of questions and need answers. We take your calls and questions to help shed light on what happened. We also talk about what needs to be fixed and how to affect the situation as fans.

Detroit Lions Podcast Finds The Tattle Tale.
Had you heard the news that David Bakhtiari did some tattling (his words) on Trey Flowers which resulted in two terrible penalty calls? As a result we also spend a bit of time discussing how players chirping at officials may affect their calls on the field. Dean also explains the review process works for evaluating officials. Every play, grading, demotions, drug tests, and even firings.

Dean also opens up about the one thing he would have changed if he went back in time to his job with the NFL. He opens up with a really interesting answer that is worth the price of admission on its own. Chris?s answer on the other hand, not so interesting.

The Lions had a walk-through on Wednesday, and six players would have been limited for Detroit had it been a full practice, including cornerback Darius Slay (hamstring), safety Quandre Diggs (hamstring) and defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson (knee).
Since Diggs missed last week, he's going to be the player to pay the most attention to as the week goes along, as well as defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand (elbow), who continues to recover from an elbow injury in training camp. As to why Hand hasn't played, Lions coach Matt Patricia said Wednesday that since the DL missed camp, they have been trying to build his reps up during padded practices.
The Lions won't have a padded practice this week, so it's unclear how that might affect whether Hand will debut Sunday or hold off for at least another week.
