Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Indians, at Comerica Park, June 30, 2017 Matchups, Tickets, Preview.
Baseball Reference

Notable:
Detroit and Cleveland will play seven of their final 10 games before the All-Star break against each other, which serves as an opportunity for the Tigers to gain ground on the American League Central division leaders. The Indians enter the series seven games ahead of Detroit.
Detroit already has matched its win total against Cleveland from all of last season (four).

Sanchez has been much better in his two starts this season. He has allowed four runs ? three earned ? on seven hits in 11 innings.
He also pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in his last relief appearance May 19 against Texas.
In his two MLB starts this year, Sanchez has allowed what Statcast quantifies as hard-hit balls (95+ mph exit velocity) on 3.61 percent of his pitches. His season average is 6.77 percent.
Sanchez is 4-7 with a 4.74 ERA in 15 games (13 starts) against Cleveland. He has allowed four runs in five innings in relief against the Indians this year after going 0-4 with a 10.13 ERA in four starts against them in 2016.

Cleveland holds a one-game lead over Minnesota in the AL Central after winning 11 of its past 16 games.
Indians own a 24-15 record on the road this season.

Tomlin?s 6.09 ERA is the highest among qualified starting pitchers this season.
Tomlin has allowed three or more earned runs in seven of his past eight starts. He has not pitched past the sixth inning in any of his past four starts.
Tomlin is 6-6 with a 5.32 ERA in 14 games (10 starts) against Detroit.
He is 3-3 with a 3.77 ERA in eight appearances at Comerica Park.
Opponents are batting .363 with a .642 slugging percentage when Tomlin makes a pitch in the strike zone this season. Tomlin's .356 Statcast expected average allowed, based on the quality of contact against him, is the highest among pitchers with at least 150 at-bats ending on in-zone pitches.
The Tigers have hit 15 home runs off of him in 66 innings.
Miguel Cabrera is 9 for 25 (.360), including one home run against him, while Ian Kinsler is 10 for 27 (.370), with one home run.

Game postponed due to rain. Will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on September 1st.

Tigers play a double header games 79 and 80 Saturday.

Can one of you do the afternoon game thread.
