Things to know about this game
The Royals haven't hit well against Fulmer, especially catcher Salvador Perez and shortstop Alcides Escobar. Perez has an .083 (1-for-12) batting average with five strikeouts vs. Fulmer. Escobar is hitting .071 (1-for-14) against him.

Fulmer has posted a 2.15 ERA and a .492 opponent OPS over his past five starts, since June 23. He has thrown a fastball (four- or two-seam) about 65 percent of the time in those starts -- higher than his season average of 60 percent. He has used the fastball to great effect, according to Statcast research. Batters are 14-for-90 (.156) against Fulmer's heaters in those outings, the third-lowest mark among 49 pitchers with at least 50 opponent at-bats ending in four-seamers, two-seamers and sinkers in that stretch.

Fulmer has won his past four starts, pitching at least eight innings in three of them. He has given up just eight earned runs in 28 2/3 innings (2.52 ERA) during that stretch.
Fulmer is tied for fourth in the AL in wins and ERA.
Fulmer is 2-2 with a 2.29 ERA in five career starts against the Royals.

Duffy is 5-7 with a 3.84 ERA in 19 appearances (16 starts) against the Tigers.
Notable Tigers against Duffy: Miguel Cabrera .219 (7 for 32), Victor Martinez .343 (12 for 35, 3 HRs), Ian Kinsler .241 (7 for 29, 2 HRs).

Miggy hasn't doubled since June 16th, I think he is due for a double or two

Tigers playing some atrocious D thus far tonight

Clown show out there tonight. Meathook got it all started.

It started with the first batter when Nicholas Castellanos side armed a bad throw over to first for a lead off error, his 15th of the season.

Geebus three errors already in the first inning good gawd just pack it in and get on the bus to minn already good lord tigers

You are correct. Clown shoes started the clown show but Meathook had the other gaffe in center and now McCan't hit drops the ball at home. Yet another error.

A little league game breaking out in KC tonight.

Fulmer's gonna walk into Avila's office after the game and demand a trade.

Royals announcers are horrible. Saying the Royals are getting it done against one of the league's best pitchers. Easy to do when no one out on defense showed up to play tonight.

Absolutely disgusting display out there by the Tigers.

Now watch them make 3 outs in less than 10 pitches and send Fulmer right back out there in the heat.

Duffy making it look super easy. Tigers in rollover mode tonight

3 errors in the first inning is a sure fire way to take the wind out of your sails. I don't care who your pitcher is. I already turned the game off. Playing MLB The Show with my 5 year old instead.

7-0 stump

Another trade annocument during the game would be welcome tonight
