Novi did play 5 playoff teams. So i guess they accumulated points that way to make it at 5-4.

Romeo makes its first football state championship after beating Grand Ledge, 48-21, in the semifinals. Romeo's one loss came in a 17-14 decision against Utica Eisenhower. Detroit Cass Tech is making its first finals appearance since back-to-back state titles in 2011 and 2012. Cass Tech, which beat Canton in the semifinal, has two losses, both coming against Detroit Martin Luther King. Romeo and Cass Tech have never met.
