Don Treadwell is back as the 10th coach and will help the O and even do some things with the D. Really like his creativity.

Paul Haynes, former Kent Staye HC, and Ohio State DB coach in 2002 when he won a Natty with Dantonio, is siaid to have been offered. This would be a great hire who knows Dantonio's philosophy.

Just rumored is Collins, the DB coach at CMU.

These 3 would be a great addition and all really get what Dantonio wants to do.

Paul Haynes has been made official. Wow, guy has a fantastic pedigree and is a great hire. Not the usual hire for us, he's got 7 years at Ohio State under Tressel and 5 years head coaching experience. Had 11 DBs drafted during his time at Ohio State.

This is a pretty big time hire and he's familiar with Coach D.

Surprised he wasn?t made a co-defensive coordinator

Really, he's got a better resume than anyone on the staff save for Dantonio. Really a great fit, both he and Dantonio learned under Saban and Jim Tressell. He's an outstanding defensive backs coach. Really a good fit.

according to Haynes bio, he was in Louisville in '02 then spent 2 years at MSU and didn't join OSU untila '05. no NC but still pretty impressive resume except the John L stint of course.

I don't see anything on his resume that puts him with Saban anywhere. he came with John L Smith from Louisville but only stayed for two years of that disaster before jumping ship for Ohio state.

Don Treadwell officially added to the staff as the 10th coach. He'll work with Haynes and the DBs as well as act as an analyst for both sides of the ball. He'll also be the "freshmen head coach", a new term that will mean he's focusing on getting the freshman up to speed quickly and helping them acclimate to college on and off the field.

Really like this hire too. Rare to hire 2 guys with head coaching experience who have had a lot of success and will fit very well into the program.

Chuck Bullough going to be hired as DE coach. Awesome!!!

Barnett and Snyder leave. Only Barnett is viewed as a loss. Haynes, Bullough, and Treadwell join the staff. Tressel goes from co-DC to DC.

It’s really hard to say we haven’t strengthened the staff over all. Not only are the guys a good fit, they have a ton of experience. All 3 are seen as good recruiters. All 3 have coached a ton of NFL players. All 3 are MSU guys who are Dantonio’s type of men.

If we had to lose Barnett, this was a great way to miminize that effect.
