Eaves and McColum are both placed on waivers today.

By Anaheim and Nashville respectively.

Jurco traded from Florida for Cliff Pu to Carolina.

I was under the impression Jurco only had an AHL deal. I think TSN isn't reporting this correctly.

Red Wings in the playoffs.

Filppula - Islanders
Mrazek - Carolina
Janmark - Dallas (might be out for playoffs fell awkwardly today)
Jarnkork - Nashville
Jensen - Washington
Nyquist - San Jose

Coaches:
Gerrard Gallant (former player) - Las Vegas
Mike Babcock (former coach) - Toronto
Bob Bougner (former prospect, drafted 32nd in 1989) - Florida
Todd McLellan (former assistant coach) - Los Angelas
Bill Peters (former assistant coach) - Calgary

Gallant, Babcock, Peters all out in the first round.
McLellan recently named head coach of LA Kings.

Gallant gets a lifetime pass from me for his goal in the 87 playoffs against EDM that iced the G1 win. No matter that the Oilers won the next 4, the G1 win felt like a series win to me.

To be honest, I never heard of Glenn Merkosky till he got let go by the Wings yesterday. Last year he was inducted to the AHL hall of fame.

He played only 20 games with the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL recording only 2 assists. He played a total of 66 NHL games between Hartford Whalers, New Jersey Devils, and the Detroit Red Wings recording 5 goals and 12 assists for 17 points.

He was most of a superstar at the AHL level winning three Calder cups (Maine Mariner 83-84 and Adirondack Red Wings 85-86, 88-89.

Following his retirement he spent 1 season as assistant coach with Adirondack Red Wings in 1991-2 before moving onto a head coaching position for the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL. After 4 seasons he returned to Adirondack Red Wings as a Head Coach from 1996-1999. Following the 1999 season he became a scout for the Detroit Red Wings until 2019.
