First Kerry Hyder, now Brandon Copeland on IR, now Hyder non-tendered

Probable for who?....no one got to the qb last year. Now we have less along the dline and youre expecting more results lmao. Youre a nutbag.

New LBs. They had 0. 4 is probable for any LB core in the NFL

Ansah healthy. Double digits is probable when his ankle isn't destroyed. See 2015. 14.5, I went with less with 12.

Bryant had 3 sacks in 5 games. 5 sacks in 12 games is probable based on his 2016 production for Detroit. Austin gets these guys sacking QBs. Bryant has a 5.5 sack season as well with the Browns.

Hyder and Taylor have 8 and 7 sack seasons. George Johnson had like 6.0 in 2014. It is probable Austin gets a guy in the 6-8 sack range. a no-name guy. He has done it every year. Hello Cornelius Washington

Robinson is beasting. And I only gave him 2 sacks. Which matched his rookie year. I was conservative with Robinson

You are the nutjob that isn't very observant.

42 sacks in 2014
43 sacks in 2015 (no Suh, no Fairley)
26 in 2016 due to various reasons

2016 is the outlier with Austin

2015 43
2016 26

17 difference

Let's see. Injured Ansah dropped by 12.5 sacks
LBs had 5.5 in 2015 and 0 in 2016

12.5+5.5=18

There is your difference

Ansah now healthy. New LBs or at least in better positions (Whitehead at OLB, Williams year 2). The LBs 4 sacks is probable.

A LB crew of Whitehead at ILB, Josh Bynes, Van Noy/rookie Williams/Armbrister. Yeah maybe they get 0, but this is a new LB crew

I have 2 for Davis, 1 for Whitehead and 1 for Williams (or Worrilow). Wooo I'm being real crazy with that. Woooo

I think Davis might get a few. Can't wait to see how versatile he is out there

But you are right though. They might have less....I guess, but I think they're more athletic and faster on the DLine now. Better LBs, hopefully better secondary, healthy Ansah. All adds up to MORE sacks. Time will tell...

They dont have less. They have more on dline.

Healthy ansah, healthy bryant. Washington v hyder

Robinson and zettel year 2

Hill over walker

Spence over charles

Ledbetter over thornton

That is more. Plus more at lb and nickel cb

To be honest i dont think youre asking for too much. Youre asking for a horrid pass rush last year to improve to being just ok.....averaging 3 sacks per game. I would expect that from an average defense. Im just not a crazy person that automatically assumes everyone is going to be better than last year.

3 sacks per game is 48. That would be tops the league

I showed you how lions went from 43 to 26. Ansah and lbs fell flat. Now Ansah healthy and lbs vastly improved

42 sacks is far from crazy for this Dline

Real key is consistent pressure. Hits and hurries

Washington was back today. Good step in right direction. Now get Ansah going by week 1

Going from 3rd worst to 3rd best when we haven't added a pass rushing specialist, pass rushing dt and we typically don't send lbs....i don't see it.

We did add a top pass rusher

His name is ziggy ansah on a good ankle

We did add a pass rushing dt. Jordan Hill. Plus robinson in year 2. Plus washington can move inside

We do send lbs. These lbs now we can send with success. 5.5 lb sacks in 2015

If 2015 lions can have 43, 2017 can have 42

Is Ansah going to be healthy?

I think one of the issues we're missing is how much more athletic we are at LB. one of the main reasons we didn't blitz much last year is because Whitehead, Bynes, Armbrister, Copeland and one legged Levy were so god awful in coverage it made it nearly impossible to blitz them.

I think we see more blitz packages this year which leads to a higher turnover rate and more sacks. Davis, Williams, Worrilow, and Reeves-Maybin have to be better in coverage than the scabs we had in 2016.

Is Austin a blitz guy? I'm asking because some coaches don't like to blitz much.. I remember when Gym Shorts was here, he didn't blitz a whole lot.

Davis is a 3-down LB, so he can cover and Maybin is supposed to be a coverage LB. Williams is a question mark and from what I read from Falcons fans on Worrilow is that he isn't very good in coverage. So saying that, hopefully 3 out of the 4 LBs can cover some space.
