I bet Megatron didn't drop to the 10th round of your league at any time, did he? Zero playoff wins has no bearing on the fact that he is a top 10 fantasy QB every season. Top 7 in just about every format last year.

Little disappointed. He had all the leverage, all QB do - but man this franchise better do something. That's a lot of money for no all pro's, no MVP etc.. Most likely the franchise is just doomed.

Good deal for the Lions actually. Many figured it would be closer to 30 mil a year. Had they franchised him 2 years he would have made more money. So this deal isnt as bad as it sounds.

Last year he was 17th in our scoring format. His projection for this year is 12th. So in Tigermud's league he is projected to be a backup QB

Boom. Stafford long term. And they save 5 million on the cap this year and have a ton of room still in 2018. Now they can tag ansah if they want which is important

Great qb for the lions. Time to win some super bowls

The money has nothing to with All Pros or MVP wins. When are you going to yank your fkn head outta your ass?!

It has a lot to do with it. I understand QB get paid but you shouldn't get paid like this if you're not one of the best.. When it the last time he just willed this team to victory, took it upon himself to get it done. Have one of those type of games? Cleveland back when he came in after his injury.. Where's that Matt Stafford. Where's the Matt Stafford who threw it down field more than 8 yards..

It's funny how in other sports, like baseball - we get all judgmental when players get paid a ton, even when they have been one of the best, but in the NFL we'll excited that he got all this money? .. Why should I be excited he has $92m guaranteed.

I would say he willed the team to a victory a lot last year....not the biggest Stafford fanboy around, but give credit where it's due. 4th quarter comebacks don't grow on trees and he led a ton last year. An NFL record I believe. The game winning TD pass to Tate @Minnesota was a lot more than 8 yards and it was a great throw. He was in MVP conversations very late in the year.

I will reserve judgment on the deal until it pans out. It could be a great signing or it could set the franchise back who knows. The money doesn't bother me, as we all knew he would get paid. It's just how the market is nowadays.

Your math might be off. tigermud said he is in a 20 team league. Even if he was only the 17th best QB, and that's a big if, he would certainly be a starter. I'm not claiming he's a fantasy world beater, but to say he's a backup in a 20 team league is silly.

If people disagree, I'd love to get some of you in my big money league. We'd love to have you!

4th quarter comebacks can be a bit overlooked. Maybe get the lead early by playing great and you won't need 4th quarter comebacks so much. And many times it was a key INT that helped us win, or bad clock management by the other team etc. If you're not going to blame Matt, at Matt himself, for the losses maybe the opposite should also hold true.

And this has nothing to do with not wanting him as a QB just the amount he got paid. And yes it's the market doesn't mean I have to be happy about it.
