Game 145 Tigers vs indians Wednesday, Sept 13, 2917

so you contend that AA is full of future Kershaws? For every future Kershaw in AA there are 50 undeveloped Myles Jaye's in AA "that are inferior to the current Myles Jaye"

But for every Kershaw in AA there are none in AAA.

Actually, for every Myles Jaye, there are 3 Mike Pelfreys. That is my point.
You're more apt to get a good upandcoming pitcher in AA, then a longinthetooth prospect in AAA.

Medic! He's a catcher jim not a GD medic!

Ausmus said he was told that some had criticized catcher John Hicks for not reacting with enough concern when Wolcott was hit by Buck Farmer's pitch in the third inning on Wednesday.

Wolcott had ejected Ausmus and starting catcher James McCann two batters earlier.

"The ball's live," Ausmus practically shouted. "He's got to get the ball. There's a guy on third. It's not like the ball's dead because it hit the umpire. He's got to go get the ball. That's his first priority."

What about after the ball was retrieved? "He's not a medic," Ausmus said.

Ausmus said he's never seen an umpire targeted as retribution for previous calls or ejections, and he's sure Farmer and Hicks never considered it.

"It's asinine that people are saying this. It's 100 percent false. I can't be more adamant in this denial," he said. "You're talking about two young guys who it wouldn't even cross their mind to do this."

Tom Dalton, if you post the game threads, please get the correct day of the week in the title. Two of this weeks games had "Tuesday" as the day of the game. Thanks.
