Game 16: Packers @ Lions Thread

Why can't we control games against lesser teams like this when it matters? We play loose and open up the playbook and good things happen.

Maybe GB isn't trying.....I don't know.

Pick in the red zone, and a muffed punt doesn't constitute not trying. Just making mistakes

Incomplete on 3rd down but why only rush 3 when you have them pinned on the goal line???

If you're the Lions, you have to wonder where this type of effort was last week against Cincinnati, when Detroit's season was still on the line and there was something to play for other than pride. Detroit dominated Green Bay in every phase in the first half against a Packers team that was undermanned with multiple starters inactive. Even so, the Lions played with much more urgency in a game that matters little versus one that mattered for pretty much everything in their season. Detroit showed creative play-calling on offense and pressure on defense -- things that have been problematic throughout the year.

Ezekiel Ansah hits double-digit sacks for the second time in his career. He did it for the first time in 2015 when he made the Pro Bowl. Ansah, a pending free agent after the season, could be playing his last game with the Lions. He's been hurt almost the entire season but played through most games.

Matthew Stafford tied former San Francisco 49ers quarterback John Brodie for No. 32 in all-time passing touchdowns on the pass to Kenny Golladay. He now has 214 in his career. Stafford won't get higher than that this year on the all-time list as next up is Jay Cutler, with 227 touchdown passes entering Sunday.

Taking sacks to push us out of fg range is just plain stupid, run the ball on 3rd and 2.

Ezekiel Ansah's season stat line is going to look a lot better than how he played this year. Picked up his second sack of the day -- No. 11 of the year. Eight of those, though, have come in three games. With 43 tackles, he's also closing in on his best tackling year ever, when he had 49 in 2014.

We scored 20 points, time to shut the offense down and get some negative yards with Abdullah.

There was a dollar bill on the field. Which dude do you think carries cash in his uniform?
