Red Wings 3 Devils 0 Final

Mrazek is an RFA meaning Detroit needs to offer 4+ million to qualify him.

Detroit management is obvious sour on him, and it dosen't make sense to give him 4+. Highly unlikely he will accept less money to stay in Detroit as a backup. Which is why few teams would be interested in him at the deadline when he can be available CHEAP come July.

Teams like Ottawa, Buffalo and Carolina will be interested in a potential #1.

Maybe Islanders as well, worst in league with GAA.

With a salary cap it is.

Stanley Cup Winners under salary cap. Under the cap need to squeeze every penny you can, paying a pair of goalies 9+ million isn't a good option.
2017: Murray - 628k (~6.4 with Fleury)
2016: Murray - 628k (~6.4 with Fleury)
2015: Crawford 6 mil (1st year of contract, ~6.7 with backup)
2014: Quick 5.8 mil (1st year of contract, ~6.5 with backup)
2013: Crawford 2.67 mil (3.82 with backup)
2012: Quick 1.8 mil (2.95 with backup)
2011: Thomas 5 mil (6.25 with backup)
2010: Niemi 825k (6.425 with backup)
2009: Fleury 5 mil (1st year of contract, 5.5 with backup)
2008: Osgood 800k (2.8 with potential bonuses for Hasek)
2007: Giguere *unknown* (before big boy contract)
2006: Ward 684k (4.68 with backup)

I hope it stays that way. Its so much different than other sports but it has gone up over the years and I hope hockey's cap doesn't continue to go up. I know most see higher caps as no big deal but I see higher prices everywhere where it effects the fans.

took 4 tries but finally got to see a Wings win at the Rock - and I got to see all 3 periods. Unfortunately it was a school night so my son couldn't attend. The Wings played well although the Devils have been a bit shaky lately. Both teams have some decent young players.
