AL Playoff Thread 2013

Also, current wild card teams and TBR and TEX, NOT CLE!

Or you could just let him worry about it..

No, I welcome corrections.

I was just confused since I haven't had Cleveland in a wild card spot since they dropped out a few days ago.

Thanks for doing this playoff thread for another year Grandy!!

They don't make an aspirin bottle large enough for me to ever attempt to do this.

If KC holds on to win, Detroit and Boston will be tied for the top spot. Detroit currently holds the seeding tiebreaker with a 3-1 head-to-head advantage over Boston (HFA throughout the playoffs).

Updated

Only two games were played yesterday (Det-Cle, Bos-KC). Detroit is now technically tied with Boston (Detroit has the superior win percentage)...Detroit has the head-to-head advantage, which gives them the edge in the tiebreaker.

Other than that, Detroit is now a full 7 games up on the central.

No changes of note. Detroit and Boston both lose, Texas and Oakland both win. The top 5 teams in the AL are all within 3 games of each other.

Texas takes over the lead in the AL West.

Updated

Tampa and Oakland are now tied for both wild card spots, TB has the head-to-head advantage and thus would have home-field in the wild card playoff game.

There doesn't appear to be any relevant series coming up concerning two AL playoff teams, however, there will be a few coming up this weekend

Updated

Detroit's loss drops them to 2nd place in the AL, now 0.5 games back of Boston. After winning last night, Texas is now 1 game back of Detroit and 1.5 back of Boston, 1.5 games now separate the 3 division leaders. Oakland also won last night, giving them a 0.5 game edge in the WC home-field advantage over TB.

Houston looks to be the first team eliminated, this could happen as early as mid next week.

Updated

Everyone at the top except Boston lost last night, so no changes of note.

Tampa and Oakland swap places, Detroit moves within 0.5 game of Boston.

Surprisingly no changes to note since Friday, every AL team except Minnesota and Chicago went 1-1 in their last 2.
