I hope Sanchez has a little more control than he did in game 1, would really like to see him make it thru the 7th.

I didn't mind him being effectively wild

The Tigers have to keep the pressure up and put at least a couple runs on the board in the first few innings. Boston knows this is a must win for them, so they will be ready to go. Plus the back end of their bullpen is pretty well rested, and we can't seem to do anything against them.

Yeah, I know I'm being picky. His pitches were pretty amazing. Just hopeful that he can change that 6 into a 3 and translate it into an extra inning.

MLB official told Jim Leyland that forecast looks ok for game time. Won't take batting practice, but should start on time.

Sanchez hopes to have better command. The sox will take pitches they swung at ooz and do what they do trying to get his pitch count up.
I think Veras will pitch late, hope he can succeed if he does come in.

When a best-of-7 MLB series is tied 2-2, the Game 5 winner has gone on to win 69% of the series.

This Game 5 is imo more important to the Tigers to win, to go back to boston with a 3 Games to 2 lead. Easier road to get 1 win at boston than trying to take 2 straight in that band box.

I'm not thrilled about it being so cold and damp, hopefully it will effect Lester as much as Sanchez.

I miss rondon and dotel

Wonder why the swap of Alex and Omar? You'd think Leyland wouldn't have changed a thing with the order after finally getting some offense last night.

Likely because Lester is a lefty and Omar hits lefties well, and Avila does not hit them at all.

I know it worked yesterday so I won't have any complaints but that's one weird lineup.

I think the overwhelming majority of managers has less than optimal lineups, this was a very good move. The hitters have to hit and I credit the players for better ab's but the lineup had to change

I know I am being Captain Obvious here but what a huge game. Basically the winner has a 70% chance of winning if history is any indicator and I think in this case the winner has at least that much of a chance. Beating Boston 2 in a row in Boston isn't likely and beating both JV and Max in back to back games again isn't likely either. I love that this pivotal game is at home and hopefully the bats are coming around. I don't expect either pitcher to have as good of an outing as they did in game 1. Both lineups will make adjustments and I would be surprised if both pitchers don't get touched up with at least 2 runs. I like that JL has finally agreed to tinker with the lineup and I think that the Tiger hitters have to have as much if not more confidence as they have had all series (Prince aside). We have had to lean on VMart and Peralta a lot so we really need guys like Ajax, Tori, Miggy, Prince, and Omar to step up. I like our chances.

No worries. Just looks odd..
