I am really bummed out.

It's been a rough year for me, in a lot of ways the roughest year for me in my personal life...

The day's Tiger game was always something I had this year to look forward to through the day each day...

Anyway guys...

Thanks for listening, and sorry for coming off as such a pussy.

Sports take on a bigger role in our lives sometime. They give you a chance to forget about all the other shit for a few hours, then the team breaks your heart sometimes and that really sucka. I feel you on this one

We all have rough stretches in our real lives. Tigers games have been cathartic the past 2 years for me, with all my old mom went through in 2012, and since this June with me.
We are here damn near every day, what's wrong with someone opening up with something in their lives. It helps.
I don't mind lending an ear to anyone here ever, about anything.
It also helps to talk Detroit Tigers when ya have to wait 5 months for the new season.

Us older Tigers fans would like to see the ballclub win at least one more World Series, before we pass on to that "League in the Sky with Diamonds", along with many if not most of us also wanting to see the NFL Lions play in A Superbowl for the very first time.

Perhaps only one of the two will be realized anytime "soon", but I think that the Lions playing in and winning a Superbowl would be my choice if I could pick only one of the two happening within my remaining lifetime.

I want my kids to experience what we have. The residuals continue from '68 and '84. It's been the longest drought for some of us here.

1945 to 1968 = 23 years
1968 to 1984 = 16 years
1984 to present = 29 years

Losing my father on May 18th really hit me hard and it took me along time to start posting again but once I did I felt a tad better for some reason. I really thought this was our year even with the injuries. I hate theses drought because we have been so damn close since 2006.. Jim and DD did help turn the organization around and we are all so grateful for that.. I remember in 2003 when we were losing 119 games I was still out in Nevada and I was working in the sportsbook and we had to go 4-2 down the stretch I think and I still put the Tigers on the big screen with sound...LOL Screw other teams fan's....I hear you T.. It was depressing to lose game 6 and then the Lions tanked verses the Bengals... Frustrating weekend other then the college teams we all root for..

you aren't alone, I've developed an excellent ability to stare blanking off into space for hours at a time this year. it's probably not healthy but it is what it is.

My dad died 8.5 years ago at the age of 58. Sports was helpful but also a bit hard during that time. My dad wasn't the small talk type, but we could always talk sports. It took a while to get used to the fact that I couldn't do that with him anymore after watching a game. In 2006 I was really hoping I could visit his grave and tell him about the Tigers winning the world series....no one saw a world series run coming that year. Time will help a lot, but not completely.

Yeah my dad and I would always talk about the Tigers, Michigan, MSU, the Lions, Pistons and Wings.. I watched a lot of games with pops.. Saw a few titles... We watched Magglio's Home Run.. Michigan's run last year...The Wings and so many Wolverine wins and losses.. Yup all theses close calls are frustrating.

Heh, my dad and I always argued about sports(he was a Pittsburgh fan). Of course back in the 70's he'd always win those arguments...seeing as his team's had quite a bit of success back then...mine?...not so much : (

He's been gone for quite a few years now...regret the falling out(s) we had over such trivial shit(like sports).

...that's life I suppose, try to do/be your best, you fall short...don't dwell on it, learn/improve from it, and move on.
