The last time Daniel Norris batted, he hit his famous home run at Wrigley Field last year before leaving with an oblique strain.
He has not taken batting practice recently (the Tigers couldn?t even take batting practice outside the last couple days thanks to all the rain in Detroit), and he made it clear a couple days ago that he?ll be focusing his efforts on the mound rather than at the plate.
So it remains to be seen whether he?ll have the green light to swing or if he?ll simply be bunting or taking pitches. Meanwhile, Victor Martinez resumes his second job as situational pinch-hitter.

The only two Tigers who have faced Braves starter Matt Wisler are Justin Upton and Jordan Zimmermann, with three plate appearances combined (and no hits).

Kinsler with a Bomb to left!! Had one just foul on the first pitch straightened out the 1 and 2 pitch,
Ian Kinsler's 28 homers are tied with Lou Whitaker (1989) for the most homers in a season by a Tigers second baseman. Kinsler's 40th career leadoff homer, 7th most all-time.
The leadoff homer Kinsler hit was his 8th leadoff homer of the season, establishing a Tigers single-season record.

Miggy hits career home run No. 445, tying him with Adrian Beltre for 40th in MLB history.
Miggy's homerun was his 2,514 career hit tying Buddy Bell for 98th place all-time.
Miggy's 1st inning homerun gives him 4,406 career total bases, passing Mike Schmidt and Dave Parker for 55th place all-time.

Miggy's 39th career multi-homer game, and iirc 6th this season.
Miguel Cabrera now has 30 multi-HR games w/ Detroit, breaking a tie with Cecil Fielder for 2nd most in club history (Hank Greenberg, 32).

Since watching the Indians clinch at Comerica on Monday, Miguel Cabrera has responded by going 8-for-9 with 5 HRs, 1-2B and 14 RBI.

We need about 3 or 4 more of those in the next 2 games Miggy...you can do it.
 
With 3 HRs so far in tonight's game, the Tigers have now hit 209 homers this season, tied for the 3rd most in club history & most since 1999 (212).
 
I have to put this game on mute. MLB extra innings have 4 braves guys in the booth with diarhea of the mouth.
 
Looks like the Orioles aren't doing us any favors tonight. Up 5-1. Now we need to be Red Sox fans.
