How can I use my own avatar? I can't seem to figure it out. I've copied the URL and set the pixel size to not exceed 100x100. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

it might be having issues if the image you're trying to use isnt square and is also bigger than 100x100, and you're putting 100x100 in the image size. try scaling the image down so that the biggest side is 100 pixels and the other side is proportionally smaller.
