Lions sign WR Jace Billingsley to active roster and place RB Theo Riddick on Reserve/Injured.

In addition, Detroit signed TE Kennard Backman to the practice squad.
Backman comes to Detroit after most recently spending time as a member of the New England Patriots practice squad. A sixth-round draft selection (213th overall) by Green Bay in the 2015 NFL Draft out of UAB, Backman appeared in seven games for the Packers last season.

Wow. Yep....so "fortunate" lol

Theo Billingsly here we go ;). Sucks about Riddick, but hopefully we find somebody to fill his void in the passing game. Not giving any attempt would be unacceptable. Imo the Lions think Billingly is the guy that is capable, and Billingsly had more to do with losing Riddick, not Roberts current issue. The timing between the ester moves was just too impeccable to think otherwise

Riddick?s injury remains one of the most peculiar among the Lions.
No one could ever find when and where Riddick hurt his wrist, but that?s not even the most confusing part.
The Lions kept Riddick on the normal roster for a few weeks, with Riddick insisting his wrist was not broken.
Soon after, out of nowhere, the team placed him on injured reserve, ending his season.

The thought was maybe the doctors finally opted surgery was the best option for Riddick, but on Monday, Riddick said surgery never happened:
Riddick did shake his head "no" when asked if he had surgery, which obviously doesn't explain the cast.
The cast Dave Birkett is referring to is a brand new hard cast that Riddick was sporting on his left wrist.
Regardless of the true nature of his injury, Riddick said he?ll be back next year.

Still peculiar injuries. Wonder what exactly required both wrists to be worked on.
