Miguel Cabrera. RBI MACHINE

Cabrera has a decent chance of being the all-time RBI leader. The only active player presently who does -- or will in this generation. There have only been three players who have held the career RBI #1 position since 1881.

I guess I am old fashion with baseball numbers as I always liked the RBI stat!

Your Best Hitters for Power, On Base, and Batting Average are going to be in the 3 and 4 spots. Guys that can drive the ball and are going to get more opportunities to drive in the baserunners which are usually in the front 2 spots of the Batting Order who usually have speed and OBP. Teams also try to put one like them at the 9 spot.
So it is reasonable that those two hitters will come to bat with more RBI opportunities.
I like some sabermetrics, but also do not agree with discounting counting numbers. WAR is not the be all end all as Brian Kenny would want you to believe. That smegma breath wants to see Trout win the MVP 20 years in a row,
When was the last time a batter who just led his league in OBP won the MVP award?
Miggy has an excellent chance, barring serious injury and not falling off a cliff in his batting, to get over 600 Home Runs, 600 Doubles, and 2,000 RBI.
