It's amazing how fast technology has moved. I wish the U.S. would fully invest in NASA. There seems to be a big move away from any kind of exploration in recent years by conservatives and that really sucks. I don't want to see other countries out there beating us to colonization of space, the moon, and other planets.

I thought that the latest NASA budget proposal passed by House Science, Space and Technology Committee increased the space-flight programs allotment by $200,000,000 ?

If they even exist in anywhere near the numbers they assume in order to paint all conservatives with that brush - maybe, but I doubt it. Sadly, the "morally superior" folks threatening violence and even death over a lion while cheering and defending barbaric flesh peddlers at PP are an actual and substantial voting block. Maybe we can all agree to divert that $500mm+ to NASA...

A POTUS cannot legislate spending on NASA, not that said spending would actually do anything but add to the federal debt. Besides, we are likely to soon vote in another POTUS who might very well press Congress to initiate another boots on the ground invasion of Iraq, and could also do some serious saber-rattling vs one of our creditors and trade (lol) partners in China.
